Terms of Service
Effective September 22, 2026.
These terms govern your purchase and use of ApplySlate, a service operated by dctsoft ("we", "us"). You accept these terms and our Privacy Policy when you place an order, before you pay; if you do not agree, do not order or pay. By ordering you also acknowledge that the information in your intake is processed by a third-party artificial-intelligence service to prepare your report, so you should include only information you are willing to have processed that way.
What ApplySlate is
ApplySlate is a college application research and decision-support service for United States colleges and universities. We research admission chances, financial aid, merit scholarships, deadlines, program fit and family cost, and deliver a human-reviewed application portfolio through a private link.
ApplySlate is not an admissions consulting firm. We do not complete applications, submit anything on your behalf, represent any student to any institution, or claim any insider admissions access.
No guarantees
Admission, scholarship, financial-aid and enrollment decisions are made solely by the institutions and providers involved, not by ApplySlate. Every admission and affordability figure in your report is a non-guaranteed planning estimate based on information available at the time. Policies, deadlines and awards change and must be verified with the official source before you rely on them.
Not professional advice
ApplySlate provides research and information. It is not legal, financial, investment, tax or professional advice, and it is not a substitute for a licensed advisor or the official guidance of any college.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and authorized to provide the information you submit. ApplySlate covers United States institutions only.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for providing accurate information and for independently verifying deadlines, policies, costs and requirements with each institution before applying, committing or acting. ApplySlate is one input into your decision, not the final word.
Your private link
Your intake and report are reached through a private link that acts as your credential. Anyone who has the link can view your case, so keep it to yourself. If you lose it, you can recover it using the email you used at checkout.
Payment and refunds
ApplySlate is a one-time purchase, processed securely by Stripe. Because each report is bespoke research prepared for you, our refund policy has three parts. Before research begins (research begins once you submit your completed intake), you may cancel for a refund of your payment less a fixed $10 non-refundable processing fee, which covers non-recoverable payment processing and case setup. After research has begun, and after your report is delivered, the purchase is non-refundable, because the work has been done for you. If we do not deliver a report to you at all, contact us and we will refund your payment. Nothing in this policy limits any rights you may have under applicable law.
What we provide is a best-effort research report and recommendations based on the information available to us at the time. We do not promise any particular admission, scholarship, financial or enrollment outcome, and we make no promise of a specific result beyond delivering that research.
Delivery
We begin research after you submit your intake, and a person reviews the portfolio before it is delivered. Typical delivery is a few business days after a completed intake.
Acceptable use
Do not submit another person's information without their authorization, and do not use ApplySlate for any unlawful purpose or in any way that interferes with the service.
Intellectual property
Your report is provided for your personal, non-commercial use in your own application process. ApplySlate's methodology, templates and software remain the property of ApplySlate.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
ApplySlate is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. ApplySlate is not liable for admission, scholarship, financial or enrollment outcomes, or for decisions you make based on the research. To the fullest extent permitted by law, ApplySlate's total liability arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid for it.
Changes
We may update these terms; the effective date above reflects the current version. Material changes will be posted here.
Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Questions about these terms can be sent through our contact page.
